More Like Craponi
If you can’t tell by the title already, I am not happy. In the last 4 years I purchased a variety of items from Luca Faloni for rather exorbitant prices but trusting the quality of good materials and made in italy.
Initially, I was very happy and even raved at them in my previous reviews.
Fast forward a few years later with a decent amount of regular (but not too much) wear and I am here to warn you not to spend your money on them.
The old reviews will be still kept intact, but feature a disclaimer and linking to this updated review.
Anyway, let me walk you through the Luca Faloni experience of 3-4 overpriced shirts, shockingly fitting shorts and a pair of expensive jeans later.
Let’s go.
The Main Issues
To begin with, let me make clear one more time that I never received free products from Luca Faloni.
It is also quite ironic that I am currently sitting at a nice coffee shop in Rome, writing this review while wearing a Luca Faloni Polo Shirt (the only one that’s still intact).
There are two main issues with this brand: The quality/longevity and the pricing.
When you spend 200$ on a polo shirt or simple crew neck shirt, you should at least expect quality.
It didn’t take too long for them to develop holes, lose structure and shape. Sure they looked nice but I expected much better.
I take good care of my clothes, I dry clean them/wash them appropriately, hang them using good hangers and fold them correctly.
I haven’t even discussed the shocking shorts and jeans yet by the way.
We will get to them later, but the main gist is that one pair of shorts ripped after a couple wears, while the replacement fits like a rapper’s trousers.
The jeans looked and fit excellent, but they did not last a year before they ripped in the crotch.
Such issues diminish the “Made In Italy” name and it continued with my most recent acquisition of Pini Parma. I will get to them after more wear and use.
There’s not much to write about in terms of Review and I don’t want to make this article longer than it needs to be.
So sit back, watch the pictures and the small comments about everything and decide for yourselves.
While writing this, I hope I can find some archive photos of the items I threw away but take my word for it.
The Polo Shirts
I bought 3 Polo shirts to rebuild my classic minimalist wardrobe.
Two cotton ones in Navy Blue (the one I am wearing today) and one in Beige but also a Linen Light Blue Polo.
The beige one got a hole in the torso which my local repairman did a shocking job trying to fix it after a year or so.
I also got a hole after a few months in the linen one which they replaced.
Not only that, but the pilling on that one was unbelievable. Credit to them at that time, but they did offer to replace it for me quickly.
But you think that would be the end of it yes? What if I told you the same (new) one actually frayed at the neck after just 20 wears?
There was also the teal (green/blue) that I really liked, but guess what, it has a hole on the bottom left now.
The navy one has been the only reliable item I have bought from Luca Faloni. What a miserable return on investment.
The Linen Crew Neck
Another 130 Euros down the drain.
This was supposed to be a nice casual shirt that I could wear when I don’t want to think.
At home leisurely, doing my groceries and not looking like a total bum, or just nice and tidy on a warmer summer day (since it’s linen).
This one doesn’t have any visible issues that I can see (or holes), but just a few washes in the neck lost complete structure and appears wavy at the front.
What rubbed me the wrong way is how they tried to gaslight me by telling me it’s normal and the fabric is stretching and should retain its shape after a wash.
In the end, who cares I am still using it for its intended purpose but for 130 Euros, I am expecting better.
The 3 Shorts Of Misery
You know, I didn’t mind the shorts in the beginning.
They looked fine, but did feel a bit tight so I thought exchanging the size would work well.
At that point, I completely overlooked the fact that they are ugly and have the worst draw strings in the history of drawstrings.
I really felt that I was tying a sack of potatoes, or you know that little string that goes in the middle of your Scamorza cheese?
Nonetheless, they exchanged to a bigger size and just after a couple wears it of course ripped at the bottom.
Probably understanding that they can’t bother to exchange again, they just sent me a new one, which I still have.
In the end, I accepted my loss and now my cats have a warm, soft place to sit on.
I’d rather look at one of your dingleberries than wear this again.
Jeans-Feated
I am exasperated, out of breath the more I write about this.
Let’s just get it over with, it is like a needle. Nobody likes them, but it will be over soon.
In all fairness, the jeans looked nice and fit extremely well.
But what’s the point if you wear them just 20-30 times over a whole year and then they rip at the crotch?
One could argue that I was not in shape or the fit was wrong, but let me tell you they fit well and I was in extremely good shape.
They just sucked. I probably have the picture I took somewhere, but at this point I cannot bother.
I just cannot Recommend Luca Faloni
Between the low quality materials, poor fit, gaslighting customer service, expensive prices and so-called “Luxury Brand”, I just cannot recommend Luca Faloni after 4 years of use and experience.
I put off this review for a while and until I dug up my customer service emails/interactions I forgot how disappointed and annoyed I was.
I will be updating the older review articles to reflect my thoughts, but I also left a proper review on Trustpilot.
By the way, did you know that on Trustpilot you cannot say “crotch”? It’s considered inappropriate.
Anyway, if I bought just a couple items from them that ended up not working out, it would be fine.
But 7 items, 4 repairs and replacements later and only one perfectly functioning item later with careful use and it’s just disappointing for almost 1000$ spent.
That’s about it for now, but I should really make a video on YouTube and blast them there too.
If you also had some bad experience, I would love to hear about it in the comments.
Thank you for reading,
